Physical Therapists are movement specialists who will assess your pain, evaluate your whole body, find and treat the root cause of your pain, instead of just treating the symptoms, making physical therapy an excellent choice for recovery and injury prevention.

Choosing physical therapy allows you to: delay or avoid surgery, have a licensed medical professional guide your recovery from injury or illness, prevent sports injury through sports specific training, reduce pain without use of excessive pain medications, and too many other reasons to name.

We are conveniently located at 500 Benson Rd, Ste 114 inside of the Office Ours building, beside the Garner Chamber of Commerce.

Our Garner location, is approximately 8 miles from center city/downtown Raleigh, NC.

A ramp for easy entrance is located on the back of the building, accessible by St Mary’s St.

If you are unable to move around in the manner in which you consider to be “your normal”, whether as a result of injury, illness, surgery, etc… or not, then consult a physical therapist. More than likely, a physical therapist will be able to reduce the pain, build the strength, or return the flexibility you need to feel like your old self again.

I like to tell people not to try to figure out if they need the skills of a physical therapist on their own. Physical Therapists are highly trained in more than 16 specific areas, and most people, including doctors are not aware of all of the ways that we can assist on your path to wellness and recovery.

When you call (919) 323-8888 or complete our online appointment request form, we’ll get some basic information like your name, phone number, email address, which allows us to create your account and schedule your first appointment.

We will then collect more pertinent information including your physicians contact info (if you have one), payment information, and information about your concerns.

We understand that we are in a time where many people do not have employer backed insurance policies and will be paying for therapy out of their pockets. For this reason we offer affordable pre-paid therapy and wellness packages in order to pass on the lowest rates we can offer. (new paragraph) Most patients will be able to take advantage of same, or next day appointment times. Contact us at 919-323-8888 or request an appointment to get started.

You do not need a doctors referral or “order” to be seen by a physical therapist unless your insurance provider requires it before they will pay for your care. For most insurances, except Medicare, you do not need a referral at all.

Please give us a call at (919) 323-8888, and we can provide you with more insurance specifics over the phone. You may also request a free insurance verification via our online form request for a PT appointment.

We “take” most insurances, however, we are not “in network” with them all. The out of pocket cost of therapy will be determined by whether we are in, or out of network with your insurance provider. We will contact your insurance company in advance, give you in writing your responsibility before your first appointment, and only collect the amount your insurance company specifies for the services you receive.

To learn more and check if your insurance qualifies for physical therapy visits, call one of our insurance specialists at (919) 323-8888 or request a free insurance verification via our online form.

Lately, you may have noticed the effects of healthcare “going corporate”. Providers are overbooked, treatments are easily duplicated and boring, you barely know your therapist, and your therapist barely knows you.

Being small and private allows the clinicians at Phoenix to customize your care based on your needs, to take a holistic approach to your care (getting to the root cause of your problems and not just creating band-aid solutions), and spend the time we need to be effective and make progress towards your goals.

If you’ve tried physical therapy before and were less than satisfied with the results, unfortunately you are not alone. However, you should not feel that you are stuck with that lingering problem forever because your first attempt at physical therapy didn’t work. Part of the reason this can happen is that some clinics have expectations for their PTs that do not allow them to spend enough time with their patients to be as effective as they can. Other reasons include clients not fully understanding what it takes to make their treatment plan be successful.

At Phoenix, we will communicate clearly your treatment plan, what you can expect from your provider, and exactly what will be required of you in order to meet your goals. We reassess your progress made every 10th visit, reviewing your goals and progress with you so that you are always aware of where you are in your healing process. Additionally, we are able to spend as much one on one time with you as you need to make sure that we have identified the root causes of your issues and the plan that we have set for you continues to be effective.

You can trust that we are committed to your success and helping you reach your desired goals. Please consider resuming physical therapy with Phoenix and click here to request an appointment.

I saw a good analogy that I’d like to share with you about pain medication vs PT.

Think about your pain like a tire that’s low on air. If you can fill the tire up once with air and the problem goes away, you probably don’t need to do anything else. If you can take OTC meds for a short while and your pain doesn’t return, you may not need PT.

If the tire keeps going flat, would you keep filling it up with air? Filling the tire with air every day may fix the symptom, but it doesn’t resolve the problem. Not fixing the problem could also lead to bigger, more expensive problem when the tire blows out while driving down the road at 70 mph!

The short answer is “it depends…”

Your cost depends on who your “payor” is. We take most insurances, and in those cases, your insurance company and the plan you have determines your out of pocket costs. Your copay, deductible, or co-insurance is already predetermined.

You can contact your provider at any time and ask for your “outpatient physical therapy” benefits to find out the specifics of your coverage.

We will verify your insurance so that you are aware of what your costs will be ahead of time. If you are uninsured, we offer physical therapy and wellness packages to allow you to access quality healthcare at a fair and affordable price.

Unfortunately, many doctors are not aware of ALL of the conditions that Physical Therapists treat. Your doctor may simply be unaware that physical therapy could be a viable treatment option for you.

Fortunately, you are encouraged to be your own care advocate and you have the right to seek out other treatment options that may work for you.

As licensed Physical Therapists, we are ethically bound to only offer to provide you with care that is appropriate for you and your condition. In lay terms, that means that if you don’t need physical therapy, we will not suggest it to you. At Phoenix, we will always make sure to educate you about your options, and if physical therapy is not your best option, we will help you identify the best treatment for you.

If you have received an invoice, the contact information to our billing department will be located on the statement.

You can always call our office at 919-323-8888 and we will help you as best as we can.
